Build up a NAS server (e.g. by using http://www.freenas.org/) which is located at the syn<sub>2</sub>cat hackerspace. It is open to anyone for storing data.

Possible usage:
* bring your laptop dans sync it to your private storage with timemachine, rsync ...
* store huge chunks of data you would like to be available at the hackerspace, to one person or to anyone visiting
* anything else you can do with a disk array

Implementation
* 386 based PC
* many connectors for disks
* lotsa disks or some huge disks
* freenas software
* manuals how to use sync software and keep your data encryptd on the NAS
* implement quota?
* a nice case with lotsa funky leds doing useless blinkenlights
