In this Workshop everyone is Welcome who wants to get to know FreeBSD a Bit better. We will Install FreeBSD-stable in a VirtualBox VM and have some fun getting to know the OS.

You will need: (*)

ftp://ftp.FreeBSD.org//pub/FreeBSD/releases/i386/ISO-IMAGES/8.2//FreeBSD-8.2-RELEASE-i386-disc1.iso
http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads

(*) This means you have the ISO on your Laptop and VirtualBox Installed. No time to waste. kthxbye

You will learn:

  • Properly Configure your VM
  • Install FreeBSD like a Pro
  • Maintain and Update your Box
  • Install cool new Tools
  • Harden FreeBSD like a Pro
  • Pentest your Install
  • Ask Questions along the way
  • Ok,ok we are going to talk about IPv6

(* But I am crazy and want bleeding Edge!) Difficulty will be very Easy for the Install and then Progress throughout the Session. Language will be whatever most people understand best (Options: English, French, German, Luxembourgish)

Oh, yeah the (%> (PizzASCII-Art)

OMG we got some Free Beer (Soft drinks) and Pizza sponsored for this event (thanks again)
