A hackerspace or hackspace (from Hacker and Space)
is a real (as opposed to virtual) place where people with common interests,
usually in science, technology, or digital- or electronic art can meet,
socialize and collaborate. (wikipedia:Hackerspace)

Changelog

Monday, January 05th, Step 1 of (currently) 4: Finalizing the statutes

Good day everyone,

By now, *most* of us should have left Berlin and its deadly freezing climate for a warm shelter and, most importantly, a permanent internet connection  ;)

As announced in my previous mail, being toughened by our experience at 25C3 and the C-base, we're about to embark for the final steps in building our hackerspace. We will do this one step at a time, each step having the current weekend as a deadline. I.e. the deadline for this step is Sunday, January 11th @ 11:59 pm. Step 2 will then, depending on the outcome of the previous step, be announced on Monday 12th.

The first step is to finalize the Non-Profit-Organisation's statutes. There's already been some discussion going on and a number of changes have been made to the text. Everyone should read through the document and the comments once again to see if he agrees and then discuss what he likes or dislikes on the wiki talk: page or the hackerspace mailing list.

You can also still become a founding member if you haven't said so already.

Happy text hacking!

Tuesday, December 30th, HackerSpace.lu on 25C3!

Hi all, I am happy to report that we did a great job on promoting our HackerSpace in Luxembourg.

All in all http://hackerspace.lu is forming and becoming something.

During the next few weeks we will put some effort on finding a Room no matter how small, even only 100 square meter will suffice.

If you got interested in Helping us, and believe we need some more hands, than don't be shy and contact us via Facebook or any other bias.

Sunday, December 21st, Finally someone posted some news ;)
  • We have launched the Luxembourgian chapter of Graffiti Research Lab and we will progressively move all LaserTagging and related stuff to that project. If you're into Street Art and Graffiti, check out the site from time to time, there'll certainly be a first meeting around January or February.
  • We've also created an Online-Shop for T-shirts. There are three different shirts to select from at the moment but the number of designs will increase with time. Also note, that you'll support us with €4 with each shirt you buy.
Sunday, November 9th, We're making progress towards our first public venue. Check for yourself in the Office section.
