We celebrate the launch of the new version of Ubuntu.
If the weather is nice, there will be a barbecue but it is the best if you bring your own food.
I try to get some DVDs/CDs from Canonical so everyone can get one for free.
Involve non-linux users
As Ubuntu is probably the most popular GNU/Linux version for beginners and switchers it would be a great contribution to the free software & culture world, if we could get new people involved with Linux. So what is left to do?
As already mentioned, providing folks with enough Ubuntu CDs as well as a information sheet with helpful information about the beginning or switching to GNU/Linux. A few boxes with prepared operating systems would be recommendable as well. A small presentation about GNU/Linux, the philosophy and the main features of Ubuntu. Don't forget the kids - there are very good educational an games applications for the youngsters.
At the end we can call it an evening.
