Plan of Action

  1. Find at least two more people fully devoted to this project
  2. Assemble more information
  3. Write a letter to potentially interested people, wait for feedback
  4. Create a folder (see metalab) and talk to politicians and other influential people
  5. Get a location and infrastructure

Ideas - Brainstorming

Goal & Definition

A hackerspace or hackspace (from Hacker and Space) is a real (as opposed to virtual) place where people with common interests, usually in science,
technology, or digital or electronic art can meet, socialize and collaborate.

Financing

Wirdorange angeboten. Ein Modell basierend auf Mitgliedsschaft wurde gewählt.

(realraum.at)

Funding of the C4 is mostly obtained through the monthly member fees; 55 members (50 active, 5 passive) do their part in paying the rent and service
bills. Occasionally, donations or income from hosted events floods into the coffers of C4, and since there is always something that needs fixing or
improving, is greatly appreciated.

Draft of letter to potential enthusiasts

Dear recipient/reader,
The goal of the present letter is to reach out for people that, [hmm... ech kréien hei keen uerdentleche Saatz zesummen]

We plan to create or initiate a lieu for hardware, software, photography, film, electronics and other hackers to meet and socialize.
Hackers of course, in the sense of people "doing something out of the ordinary", people unsatisfied with simply using things and,
on the other side, thrilled by the prospects of using things in a way they weren't supposed to be.
This Hackerspace (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hackerspace) would be a place to meet like-minded people, engage in projects,
hold or participate in workshops, give or listen to talks, or simply hang out and have a beer [Oh... ech mengen do musse mer kucken,
do musse mer schon definitiv e Club sinn, soss dierfe mer daat wuel net?!] with people that share your interests.

We want to stress, that his place shall be open to anybody, of any gender, with any interests, of any nationality, as long as they're
interested in creating or taking apart things that will turn out to be art, new software, interesting hardware, or a new approach to
anything related to communication, social interaction or, for that matter, politics.

If you've never been to such a Hackerspace, we encourage you to have a look at existing and successful hackerspaces abroad.
Among the most popular hackerspaces today are the Metalab in Vienna (http://metalab.at/wiki/Folder:V5a-en),
the C4 in Cologne (https://koeln.ccc.de/) or the C-Base in Berlin (http://www.c-base.org/).
We feel that creating a similar infrastructure in Luxembourg would be a chance for the local but also inter-regional culture,
youth as well as businesses who could - and should be encouraged to - support and harness the potential and creativity that will bristle
in such a space.
