An attack-defense tree is a method to model attacks and their countermeasures. These ADTrees are an extension of attack trees and can handle opposite to attack trees defensive mechanisms, which also can be attacked. Therefore these ADTrees model a bit better reality. These trees are on one hand used to illustrate, for example to stakeholders how the attack can be performed or provide to security engineers a more realistic insight. On the other hand one can evaluate these to find out e.g. what costs are involved in the attack an so on. The presentation will take around 35 minutes followed by a discussion afterwards (+/- 15 min ).
