The idea came up when coworker wanted to donate a chocolate keyboard to a fellow sysadmin for his recent not so skillful achivement.
Create a classic slab of chocolate (200g) but with the different pieces arranged like a keyboard with the key labels QWERTY...
- get help (who has contacts to a local chocolatier?) DONE. Thanks Lionel!
- create model (real keyboard too huge, maybe use netbook size). Netbook is ok, it's rectangular and size suits well. Now need a actual keyboard to give to the chocolatier. OK, but the letters on the keys are not in relief, so the form will just show keys. No text.
- create form (supplies for food compatible silicone). Additinally a form for a mini-keyboard has been found and ordered and recieved! Form cost £5. Sent to me as free. So £5 will go to Televie! First Televie money earnet with this project.
- produce a prototype (which chocoloate, where to buy?)
- make more
- need wrapping to make look nice, no idea how.
- sell at Télévie or the Christmas market in Strassen if we decide to participate there
Can I haz White Chocolate? and QWERTZ ;) --kwisatz 15:44, 2 October 2009 (UTC)
First Chocolate keyboard made with a bought form. Note that it's about 1/4 of the size aimed for. So molding a real keyboard is the next step.
First bite of the first sold keyboard. Yummy!
== The big keyboard After lots of trial and error, the first keyboard arises from the silicone mold. Thanks eeePC!
