Sunday, February 22nd, Hackerspace Wiki upgraded!
Fellow users, our wiki has just been upgraded from 1.13.3 to 1.14.0.
|
Sunday, February 07th, Dear Hackerspace folks, kind supporters and sympathizers,
the opportunity has come to convert your engagement in the Hackerspace
community into a fully fledged membership.
As of yesterday, the "syn2cat Hackerspace.lu a.s.b.l." has a bank
account into which you may transfer your transitory membership fee.
The transitory, yearly membership fee up to and including one month of
free membership once we have a place is €42 (or €21 if you are a
student or currently unemployed) (Transitory membership will be valid
until and will have to be renewed in February 2010, should no suitable
space be found until then.)
You may also choose to become a donating member, which means that you
pay a regular membership fee plus a supplementary amount
of your choice. You'd do us an even bigger favor by setting up a
recurring payment. Donating members will receive a little something with
their membership card.
The account data is:
Holder: Hackerspace.lu A.S.B.L.
BIC/SWIFT: BGLLLULL
IBAN: LU43 0030 6369 5082 0000
Please make sure to state "membership fee" (and your nickname in case we
don't yet know you by your real name) as the reason for transfer.
You will receive a membership card as soon as they're designed and
printed. (Real designers at work here! ;))
This temporary membership card, that will have your nick- but not your
real name, will later probably be replaced by a chipcard (not RFID, rest
assured) that might also serve as a key to the hackerspace. In order for
us to be able to send your card, please make sure we have your snail-mail
address.
Your payment not only grants you the right to vote at the coming General
Assembly but is also a straight-forward statement of commitment to the
hackerspace, its goals and ideals. At this time, only individual
membership is available. User-Group membership will be available from
the moment we occupy a space.
We will also try to keep the money-handling business as transparent (and
still confidential) as possible. You may at all times get a view over
the current income and expenses on the following wiki page: Financing
Thank you for your ongoing support!

Monday, January 05th, Step 1 of (currently) 4: Finalizing the statutes
Good day everyone,
By now, *most* of us should have left Berlin and its deadly freezing
climate for a warm shelter and, most importantly, a permanent internet
connection ;)
As announced in my previous mail, being toughened by our experience at
25C3 and the C-base, we're about to embark for the final steps in
building our hackerspace.
We will do this one step at a time, each step having the current weekend
as a deadline. I.e. the deadline for this step is Sunday, January 11th @
11:59 pm.
Step 2 will then, depending on the outcome of the previous step, be
announced on Monday 12th.
The first step is to finalize the Non-Profit-Organisation's statutes.
There's already been some discussion going on and a number of changes
have been made to the text.
Everyone should read through the document and the comments once again to
see if he agrees and then discuss what he likes or dislikes on the wiki
talk: page or the hackerspace mailing list.
You can also still become a founding member if you haven't said so already.
Here's the link: Association
Happy text hacking!

Tuesday, December 30th, HackerSpace.lu on 25C3!
Hi all, I am happy to report that we did a great job on promoting our HackerSpace in Luxembourg.
All in all http://hackerspace.lu is forming and becoming something.
During the next few weeks we will put some effort on finding a Room no matter how small, even only 100 square meter will suffice.
If you got interested in Helping us, and believe we need some more hands, than don't be shy and contact us via Facebook or any other bias.
