Membership

The minimum membership fee for individuals is 72€/year. Please note that this is a minimum fee that should allow everyone to attend the hackerspace and that the actual amount of your contribution is to be self-determined according to your priorities and financial ability. The membership runs from January 1st to December 31st.

Your contribution can be split up into at most 12 payments. Becoming a member means that you agree to support the hackerspace with 72€. If you join in mid-year, the membership fee runs until December 31st at 6€/month. The administrative council can decide to grant an exemption from paying membership dues to a member in financial difficulties.

In addition to paying for regular expenses, the money goes towards paying for members' projects, as decided by simple majority vote using an online voting system. Every member can propose an expenditure to be voted on.

Our bank account details are as follows:

Account-Holder: Hackerspace.lu A.S.B.L.
BIC/SWIFT: BGLLLULL
IBAN: LU43 0030 6369 5082 0000

Please include "membership fee" and your nickname as reason of payment and make sure that we have your snail-mail address to send you your membership card (as soon as we have some ;)).

Other Associations

We encourage and welcome other assocations to use our facilities for holding meetings or working on projects.

The minimum usage fee for associations is 6€/meeting-day, regardless of the number of members. That is, each day a meeting is held in the hackerspace costs 6€. This entitles ALL members of the association to 24 hours of access to the hackerspace on that day and, if possible and desired, gives the association private usage of one of the rooms in the space for up to 5 hours. Associations are limited to four meetings per month to ensure continued availability of the space to regular members.

Every association and individual should determine the membership fee by it-, him- or herself. That is, decide the actual amount of contributions according to their own capacities and space "usage", as well as by how much they're able and willing to contribute to financing the hackerspace and the projects carried out therein.

Why support syn2cat?

syn2cat is a non-profit organization that lives off it's membership fees and our supporters' donations. Your financial (or material) support helps run the association, finance projects and organize workshops for youth.

You may also choose to become a donating member, which means that you pay a regular membership fee plus a supplementary amount of your choice. You'd do us an even bigger favor by setting up a recurring payment. Donating members will receive a little extra with their membership card.
